Upper Grades (Grades 8-12)

Upper Grades Program Model:

Students enrolled in Whittier School's upper grades classrooms focus on expected school behaviors, communication development, social skills, daily living skills, self-advocacy, daily physical education, and academics. Academic instruction is aligned to priority Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Core Content Connectors (CCC) and Essential Understandings. Instruction is focused on activity-based learning that integrates academic content with communication and social skills. Upper grades students access a daily living skills lab and vocational skills lab as well as campus jobs to prepare for their post-secondary goals.
